VYC Industrial, s.a. was founded in Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain at the
beginning of the century, in 1914, at the height of the Catalan
textile industry. At first we specialised in heating but the emerging textile industry needed companies specialising in steam and our knowledge of boilers meant we were well placed to exploit this market. We started as installers, but as the company became more technically proficient we established ourselves as manufacturers of steam boilers and textile machinery. Indeed two of the current divisions of VYC started this way: the Air Conditioning and the Boilers division. In manufacturing our boilers we used components that were difficult to find in the national market and difficult to import. We overcame this difficulty by manufacturing valves, pressure gauges and other components for our own use. Over time, we built up a manufacturing programme that was sufficiently attractive to be marketed separately and this is how the current Valve division was born. Adapting to the market has been a constant challenge. We have built textile machinery, heating boilers, burners, pressure gauges and more. We were the first company in Spain to install radiating panels. We are pioneers in gas, co-generation, bio-diesel, solar energy installations and more. Since 1914 the company has developed through steam and heating oil. The legacy of this century is a wide-ranging and rigorous technical base dedicated to the thermal-energy field. And it is this expertise that allows us to offer our clients advice and support from the youngest of our divisions, that of Legalisation. |
